Sgraffito

Sgraffito- decorating pottery by painting the entire piece and then scratching away the paint and surface clay into a design.

I liked this technique because it's a new and interesting way to decorate, not just by painting.  It's easy to fix if you mess up carving because you can just paint over your mistake.  I didn't like how clay dust got all over the outside and got all scratchy and imposible to fix.  I would probably try sgraffito again.
